Anker SoundCore XL
Great value for the money – sound may be a bit thin for some people

First, let’s note that I use a lot of Anker products, but I do *not* receive them for free–I pay for them.
Bluetooth Speaker Comparison — 2017 Edition

I was in need of a new portable speaker, and like many of you, I was a little overwhelmed after doing an Amazon search and finding literally tens of thousands of options to choose from. It’s especially frustrating because probably the most important part of the product — how good it sounds — is not something you can really evaluate until after you physically have it. So I picked four speakers to compare: Cambridge Soundworks OontZ Angle 3 Plus, Anker SoundCore Sport XL, Geek Beats Jolt5, and the JBL Flip 4.
Fantastic sounding speaker! Built like a tank.

This speaker is easily close to the same level as the $129 Bose SoundLink…for $60. What was a big question for me (and I’m sure a lot of people looking over this) is how it directly compares to the Anker Premium Bluetooth Speaker that’s also the same price. I bought the Anker Premium Bluetooth speaker first and decided to try this one out as well for a comparison. Well, the premium speaker went back and this is the one I’m keeping. The sound is not muffled at all on the SoundCore (which was a concern with the waterproof mesh before I bought it) and has slightly more defined bass then the other. Bass output is around the same for both. Everything sounds incredibly clean and detailed for the size of the SoundCore XL. I could see the SoundCore Sport XL eventually replacing the other Anker product. It’s a better deal and the slightly less wattage is barely noticeable.
As Always, Anker Delivers Great Value

I’ll admit it. I have a problem; a Bluetooth speaker problem. In my house, there are now at least 10 that I can think of. I’ve given away or sold countless others. I owned the Anker Premium Stereo Bluetooth Speaker and dozens of other Anker products. I’ve since passed the Premium down to my son who’s over the moon about it. Then I lent my sister my UE Roll speaker to take on her trip to the beach. She has no intention of returning it now. It’s ok. One of my favorite pastimes is passing along technology. However, I was now without my bathroom speaker. #firstworldprobs I said, “Let me see if Anker has any waterproof speakers.” Anker, having everything any geek could want, had a couple to choose from. I chose the SoundCore Sport XL.

As good as if not better then the bose soundlink! (not the soundlink mini, just to clarify) Also much much better then the original soundcore, as I originally purchased that speaker before replacing it with this monster. Where do I begin with this fantastic product. Well let’s start with the quality and feel of the Soundcore XL. It feels remarkable with that rubber non slip finish, and the weight behind it gives you that confidence that this item is not going to break anytime in the near future. As far as the EQ’s, it seems to be spotless with nearly all genres of music. Examples of more well known artists that I listen to which sound accurate through this speaker include, The Beatles, Deadmau5, Paramore, Biggie Smalls, and Radiohead. A short backstory to why I purchased this product. I run a 30ft/30ft kitchen that is stimulated by good music being played at a loud volume to put it simply. This item accomplished that task flawlessly, and the fact that it is water/dust/shock proof makes it even more remarkable for the job. Trust me, as an active music audiophile and enthusiast, this exceptional piece of technology gives you that crisp sound you’ve been craving from a wireless speaker. Absolutely in love with it.
Stopped working quickly but Anker to the rescue.

Original review: I’ve had this speaker for just over 3 months and I thought it was amazing. I recently got a new job and I use it while I am working. I have probably only used it a dozen times and it no longer will charge. It doesn’t matter what charger or cord, it just doesn’t work. Very disappointed. Should have kept the box because that had warranty info on it.
Sound is better than I thought

Got it today. Opened the box… 5.5 hrs and charging my phone….. still no low battery light.. ***.. Sound is better than I thought. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BUY! I dropped it out of my coat pocket, wiped with paper towel while listening to music. I’m going to buy another one just to have.. THANKS! Anker.. product success
THIS thing HAS odd COMPRESSION issues

This is a trickier review to write than most. I own and enjoy many of Anker’s products including the smaller Soundcore. I like the smaller Soundcore enough to have gifted a couple of them as well. I also gifted the Premium Bluetooth Speaker which I thought sounded pretty good, particularly for it’s price.
Just awesome! got it for my rock cralwer since it …

Just awesome! got it for my rock cralwer since it has no radio, but also listen to it around a campfire or riding the 4 wheelers. lately though i have bungee the speaker to my jet ski to have some music while i ride at the lake. the only thing is if it get submerged underwater the music sounds distorted due to the fabric dust guard behind the speaker grill gets saturated in water. it takes good 10 minutes to dry out. what i ended up doing was removing this dust guard behind the speaker grille. now if the jet ski goes belly up and the speaker goes under it easily drains water from the grille. I’m sure it’s to prevent large pieces of dirt to become trapped behind the speaker grille. but for what i am using it for that should not be an issue. even so the grille pops off easily to wash it out.
Just what I wanted.

I just received my speaker, and I gotta say, it’s ok, now I haven’t tested the range nor the battery duration, but the sound quality is good, I have the 3w soundcore and the sportxl it’s louder and it keeps it’s quality, the bass levels according to the music.
